Kick it up for kickoff!

Whether you are for the Baltimore Ravens or the San Francisco 49ers we can all agree that a Superbowl Party has become an American Classic.  This year certainly deserves a celebration since this will be the first time in Super Bowl history in which both teams have appeared in the Superbowl before but neither have lost there! Since we at The Kitchen Stink are trying to up the health level on our favorites here is a great sub (or at least a great go with) for those hot buffalo wings to chow down on Feb. 3rd!  (1.2 billion chicken wings or roughly 100 million lbs. are comsumed during the game, and 1 order of 10 wings can have 1150 calories and 70 grams of fat! )

Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower

  • Dash of Frank’s Original Hot Sauce, or whatever kind you like
  • ½ c. white rice flour
  • ½ c. water
  • Pinch salt
  • For the Buffalo sauce:
  • ¼ c. Frank’s Hot Sauce
  • ¼ c. oil, canola oil works best
  • Pinch salt

  • Instructions
    1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix together the batter ingredients in a small bowl. Dip the cauliflower in the batter until coated evenly then place on greased baking sheet. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the batter hardens.

A few Super Bowl Stats:
*Commercials are the most costly during Super Bowl than any other time due to high viewership. On average 80-90 million viewers are tuned in at any given moment during the game. Some spots for the 2013 Super Bowl have sold for over $4 million for a 30 second spot!
*In 20 years, 17 of the Super Bowls were won by the team whose city had the lowest unemployment rate!
If this pans out Baltimore would take this one! (Balt. unemployement is 7.2% vs. San Frans 8.2%)
*One pizza chain estimates that approx. 11 million pieces of pizza will be enjoy on this day.
*FOUL!  About 1200 calories and 50 grams of fat will come from snacks during the game. That is just snacks alone! Not counting meals! So get ready, why not try our spicy buffalo cauliflower and some yummy vegs with a low cal dip?

New Orleans is ready, are you?
